Herd Cows
# 1
#1. The original WR cow. She came to the ranch from a large Dexter operation in Missouri as a three year old. She has been herd boss since the day she arrived. #1 has provided the ranch with plenty of amazing animals, including the one and only Mack, the ranch mascot. She has tremendous mothering instincts, great feet, even temperament, and always keeps her condition no matter what time of year it is. The best thing about this cow is she seems to always throw beautiful, healthy, red calves!
# 2
If the ranch had to pick a favorite cow, #2 would be a no-brainer. She came to the WR from a small dexter producer in South East Iowa. #2 has the best temperament in the herd. She loves to be scratched, always comes when the herd is called, and is very relaxed and easy going. She has a great udder and does not over-produce milk. The best thing about #2 is she throws big, meaty steer calves that are always calm and grow up to flesh out great. The Ranch is lucky to have her genetics here.

# 3
#3 is the ranch's smallest herd cow. She is a beautiful, feminine cow that has the tendency to throw dainty, gorgeous black heifer calves. #3 is a strong breeder, and has had a calf every year since she entered our breeding program. She has a wonderful temperament, great feet, balanced udder, and is a heavy milker. #3 is the first each year to become slick and shiny and is always in good health. Paired with Daggett's Shay, #3 has given the ranch wonderful heifers that have a bit more size on them and will continue the quality genetics for our own operation as well as yours.
