Herd Bulls
One of the biggest issues with raising livestock on a small scale is not having enough land base to support all classes of cattle. At the WR, we strive for a 42 day calving window and have to control when the cows are exposed to a bull. This means those breeding age males would have to be separated from the rest of the herd for ten and a half months out of the year. With not enough acres to make this possible, our only option is to use artificial insemination (A.I.)

A.I. also makes it possible to inject premium genetics into the herd. We are able to use top dollar bulls to sire our offspring. These award winning bulls, combined with the great traits of our mama cows, creates high quality replacement females for our own cow herd, as well as for yours.
