Pastured Poultry
From Happy, Healthy Birds
We strive to produce poultry that not only tastes great, but is extremely healthy for the soil, the bird, and the end consumer. We believe in working with nature and raising the birds outdoors on perennial pasture. In addition, every step in the process supports local, family run operations. Our chickens never receive any hormones, vaccinations, or antibiotics. Along with fresh pasture full of grasses, legumes, and insects, our birds are offered a custom mixed feed ration using ingredients sourced from surrounding Madison County farms. WR chickens are packaged whole and range from 3.5 to 6.5 pounds, priced at $5.00 per pound.
Grass Fed Beef
With A Barley Finish
All of our dexter beef is born and raised on the ranch. The animals spend their entire lives out on pasture with the herd in their family units. While the grass is green, they are intensively rotated through the pastures, being moved to fresh, new forage twice a day. During the winter months, our cattle are offered high quality hay to supplement any grass still available to them. In the last sixty days of the animals life, we offer up to two pounds of steam rolled barley a day while they remain out on pasture eating grass as their primary feed source. This small amount of barley provides just enough energy to help keep the meat tender and marbled. After processing, the meat is dry aged for 14 days to further increase tenderness and flavor before it is cut and packaged to your specifications.
